Community Service

Volunteer at a community tree nursery where you will help with re-planting and reforestation. Help the community to clean out old catchment dams and build new ones that will serve as wild elephant watering holes. When you visit the Banteng, a critically endangered species of wild cattle, you will help build salt-licks and seed-balls (an eco-friendly tool Thai farmers use to facilitate reforestation in remote areas). Assist an eco-village by building eco-houses out of mud. You will also visit and volunteer at an elephant sanctuary, where you may get up close and personal with these majestic animals. Walk to a river with the elephants where you will get the opportunity to help bathe them.

Hands-On Learning

Experience the unique biodiversity of Thailand, and learn about the different types of forests growing here. Participate in a snake education course where you will learn about species found in Thailand, and how to deliver basic first aid for a snake bite. Experience Thai markets and food firsthand. Visit the Grand Palace and the Golden Wat temple to see the Emerald Buddha. Top it all off as you travel to Kanchanaburi, where you'll see the World War II "Death Railway" famous for its bridge on the River Kwai. Lastly, learn about the importance of protecting land for the last remaining wild elephants in Thailand.
